Our Rasenspecht manual aerator is the essential professional tool for optimal garden maintenance. The hollow spoons allow you to either replace the soil very effectively — i.e. removing old soil then easily refilling with sand or suitable soil — or leave it open to allow nutrients, air and water to reach the roots. The collection tray means there is no need to pick up leftover soil, and it also prevents excavated soil from falling back into the holes created during aeration.
Spoons
When should you choose the aerator with 2 spoons and when should you choose the version with 3 spoons? The 3 spoons are separated by gaps of 5.5 cm. This makes it possible to aerate the ground at very close intervals. The 2 spoons are roughly 10 cm apart. We recommend the 2-spoon design for very compacted soils because the more spoons you use, the more force you need.
The spoons are 9 cm long and made of stainless steel. The tips are made of nitrided steel, which makes the spoons extremely durable. So stony soil and roots are no problem with this Rasenspecht tool. The spoons are specially processed, so they have a conical shape, which allows excavated matter to be ejected into the collection tray.
They can be flanged onto the base plate to ensure a secure hold.
20 mm spoon:
We recommend the 20 mm spoon for dense and clay soils.
The large spoons allow for particularly effective drainage and aeration of your lawn. They also make subsequent filling with sand extremely easy
Suitable for all soils
Due to the conical shape of the spoons, the excavated material does not get stuck
Please note: the outer diameter is 20 mm, at the cutting tips the diameter is 16 mm due to the tapered design.
16 mm spoon:
Due to the slim spoons, the holes are small and barely visible, the spoons hardly damage the turf
We recommend the 16 millimetre spoon for sandy soils and ground that is only lightly compacted. This design can easily get clogged if used on clay soil.
Due to the conical shape of the spoons, the excavated material does not get stuck
Please note: the outer diameter is 16 mm, at the cutting tips the diameter is 12 mm due to the tapered design.
Pointed spoon:
We recommend the pointed 20 mm spoon for particularly compacted soil or heavy clay soil.
24 mm spoon
The large diameter of the 3x24 spoons ensures particularly effective soil replacement, which is useful for very clayey soils
The diameter of 24 mm guarantees that excavated matter does not get stuck, so this equipment is also suitable for wet, clayey (sticky) and very hard soil.
Do you need a shorter spoon because you don't want to damage items that have been lain beneath the lawn, such as robot cables, water pipes and mole netting? In which case, you may be interested in our adapter kit for hollow spoons.
