Reel mowers from our workshop in Bramsche, Germany. New: the Falkenstein Consul, our cordless reel mower with electric drive for larger lawns and comfortable mowing. Consul Comb and Consul Groomer cut from 3 mm, just as low as our Falkenstein Pro push reel mower. Delivery for the start of the season at the end of March 2027. For smaller, level lawns there are the Falkenstein Pro and Falkenstein Light push reel mowers. All models cut on the scissor principle.

Why a reel mower cuts differently

A rotary mower works with a blade that spins through the grass at high speed and knocks the blades of grass off. The result is not a clean cut but a frayed, torn edge. It dries out, turns brownish within a few days and gives fungal spores an open entry point.

A reel mower works on a different principle: the rotating reel guides each blade of grass against a fixed bedknife, and the two edges cut it like a pair of scissors. The cut surface stays clean, heals quickly and does not bleach out. That is why every golf green is mown with reel technology, and why it is the only technology that makes sense for low cutting.

The same heart in every Falkenstein

All Falkenstein reel mowers share the same heart: a cutting unit with a relief-ground reel and a bedknife with a Tournament Cut. Reel and bedknife sit in a precisely set gap without touching each other. The grass is cut cleanly, the edges hardly wear, and the cut stays precise for years. All four models deliver the perfect cut, cordless or push.

Cordless or push: which Falkenstein suits your lawn?

Consul Comb, Consul Groomer and Pro all cut extremely low, down to 3 to 4 mm. The Light is designed for typical home lawn heights of cut. The real difference is the drive: you push a push reel mower yourself, and the reel is driven by your pushing alone. That is why it needs a very level and rather small lawn. The Consul has an electric drive. If you have a larger lawn or simply want to mow in comfort, it is the right choice.

• Falkenstein Consul Comb: cordless reel mower with adjustable comb, 3 to 35 mm, from low cutting to the home lawn, 40 or 55 cm cutting width.
• Falkenstein Consul Groomer: cordless reel mower with powered groomer for low cutting, 3 to 15 mm, 40 or 55 cm cutting width.
• Falkenstein Pro: push reel mower for low cutting, 4 to 25 mm, 47 kg, 40 cm cutting width.
• Falkenstein Light: push reel mower for the home lawn, 14 to 35 mm, 30 kg, 40 cm cutting width.

Falkenstein Consul: quiet and comfortable cordless mowing

The Consul brings the Falkenstein cut to larger lawns: rear roller and reel are battery-powered, so there is no pushing. Reel and bedknife are made of high-strength steels, and the height of cut is infinitely adjustable. The grass box sits at the back, at the pivot point of the rear roller. This improves the tipping point when turning, even with a full grass box.

Both cut just as low as the Falkenstein Pro. The Consul Comb covers low cutting as well as the home lawn, from 3 to 35 mm. Its adjustable comb lifts the grass before the cut. The Consul Groomer is built entirely for low cutting from 3 to 15 mm. Its powered groomer lifts sideways-growing blades and runners so the reel catches them cleanly. Both are available with 40 and 55 cm cutting width. Pre-orders are built over the winter and delivered for the start of the season at the end of March 2027.

Falkenstein Pro: push reel mower for low cutting

The Pro cuts from 4 mm and is the push reel mower for anyone who wants to mow low and push the mower themselves. Its torsion-resistant frame made of 5 mm powder-coated steel keeps the cutting unit setting exact, even under load. The 47 kg are intentional: weight on the split stainless steel rear roller lays the grass in the direction of travel and creates clear stripes.

Falkenstein Light: the way into reel mowing

The Light is our push reel mower for the home lawn. It is built in the same workshop, from the same materials and with the same care as the Pro. The difference lies in what it is designed for: a well-kept home lawn is usually between 20 and 30 mm, and that is exactly what the Light is made for. The 7-blade reel makes 73 cuts per metre, about twice as many as standard push reel mowers. At 30 kg it has enough weight for clean stripes and stays light enough for small lawns with lots of turning. A height-of-cut indicator, grooved front roller and deflector plate with flaps can be added at any time.

No mass production: why it pays to order early

Lawnpecker is a small manufacturer. Every Falkenstein is built by hand, and we make a large share of the individual parts ourselves. That is the reason for the quality, and it is also the reason why our capacity is limited. We deliberately keep our numbers small so that every mower gets the care it needs.

Most orders come in spring. During peak season the waiting time can therefore be several months. If you want to mow at the start of the season, order in good time, ideally in autumn or winter. It also helps us a lot as a small manufacturer, because the work is then spread across the whole year.

A tool you don't replace

Every Falkenstein is made in our workshop in Bramsche, Germany. As the manufacturer, we can supply every spare part on request. You can keep a push reel mower sharp at home yourself: backlapping once a year is usually enough, and about every three years we recommend a professional grind, which we offer ourselves as a sharpening and maintenance service. We don't build for one season, we build for generations.

Frequently asked questions about Falkenstein reel mowers

Cordless or push: which Falkenstein is right for me?

First, decide between cordless and push. For larger lawns or comfortable mowing, the Consul is the right choice; a push reel mower suits smaller, very level lawns. For low cutting, Consul Comb, Consul Groomer and Pro are equally suitable. The Consul Comb also mows up to 35 mm. If you mow by hand and keep your lawn between 20 and 30 mm, the Light is the right tool.

When will the Falkenstein Consul be delivered?

The Consul mowers are built over the winter and delivered for the start of the season at the end of March 2027.

Why does a reel mower cut better than a rotary mower?

A reel mower cuts the grass like a pair of scissors and leaves a clean cut surface. A rotary mower knocks the grass off; the edge frays, discolours and gives fungi an entry point.

What does Tournament Cut mean?

Reel and bedknife do not touch when cutting but sit in a precisely set gap. This is gentle on the material and keeps the cut precise for years. All Falkenstein reel mowers work with this cutting unit, from the Light to the Consul.

Are spare parts available?

Yes. As the manufacturer, we can supply every spare part on request.

How long does delivery of the Pro and Light take?

Every Falkenstein is built by hand to order, and our capacity is limited. You can find the current delivery time on each product page. During peak season it can be several months. If you want to mow at the start of the season, it is best to order in autumn or winter.
